Out of Sight is a masterfully woven nightmare where you look at the world through the eyes of a teddy bear, while its blind owner Sophie tries to escape from the mansion. Imagine: a child who suddenly gains sight through his favorite toy, but is frightened by its limited vision - you put Teddy on the shelf, and now you see only what falls into the field of his glass eyes, while Sophie gropes for cabinets or looks for keys. Those few seconds when the camera remains motionless, and you hear the floor creaking somewhere ... that's where real horror is born.
The gameplay balances between puzzles and stealth, switching perspectives to guide Sophie through a maze of furniture, then hiding as you hear the footsteps of her captor, Mrs. Gianna, whose whispers sound like she’s already behind you. The moments when the teddy bear is grabbed and the screen shakes in the pursuer’s hands are particularly successful, and you frantically twist the camera, trying to figure out where Sophie is. The puzzles are simple (drag a box, find a lever), but the atmosphere brings them to perfection, especially when you find children’s handcuffs in a closet or portraits with gouged-out eyes.
The game resembles a dark fairy tale: a Tim Burton-style mansion with pastel wallpaper that hides creepy details like child cages and bloody scissors. The sound adds to the anxiety, as Sophie whispers “Teddy, I’m scared” and the only response is the creaking of floorboards. True, it doesn't last long: in 3 hours you won't reveal all the secrets (why did the bear come to life? What kind of ritual is Gianna preparing?), but the ending leaves goosebumps...
