Vivat Slovakia is a criminal odyssey through Bratislava in the 90s, where crumbling socialism gives way to wild capitalism, and your character, former border guard Troter, travels around the city in a taxi, getting involved in dirty business along the way. There are no clear boundaries between the police, bandits and politicians: everyone plays by the rules, where the winner is determined by the thickness of the wallet. The city lives its own life, albeit a little wooden - pedestrians with briefcases resemble wind-up dolls, and cars float along the roads as if on ice - but this has a peculiar charm. Especially when the evening sun illuminates the panel high-rise buildings, and for a second it seems that you are in a real noir about the "dashing nineties".

Missions - from the funny (delivering passengers while chatting about politics) to the gloomy (sniper "hunt" on the border) - are generously flavored with local color. In between tasks, you can fish, collect pumpkins for a "vampire" car or swallow "crazy vitamins" that give temporary superpowers. Yes, the controls sometimes drive you crazy (try to aim accurately with a twitching camera), and the world outside the plot is empty, but each trip in an old "Zhiguli" to the cheerful Slovak radio hits is a nostalgic kick to the era when laws were written on the fly.

The game's gimmick is not in polish, but in the atmosphere: here you are photographing an official in a compromising pose, and here you are dodging an explosion at the market. Vivat Slovakia does not strive to be a “AAA-level GTA” – it is more like an amateur film shot with enthusiasm, a budget of three kopecks and a bunch of strange decisions. But if you are close to the romance of post-Soviet chaos, where even a tram can become a weapon of revenge, this taxi company will draw you in.
